Better Search Engine Rankings
Better search engine rankings are achieved by good Search Engine Optimization. Better search engine rankings means more visitors and more income from products sold. It is a very simple equation but very true.
The first thing you need to consider when trying to achieve better search engine rankings is the keywords you will be using in order to optimize your site. Going after highly competitive keywords will be a futile exercise and only lead to your own frustration. Do good keyword research and find keywords with low competition, in this way you would be able to get better search engine rankings for the longer tail keywords you have chosen.
To achieve better search engine rankings the next step in to duplicate what the top site for the keyword is doing right now. Analyze the site, the links to the site, look at the content the keyword density, bold and italic text and very importantly have a look at the meta tags that the site is using.
To find out if your page is set up with the correct meta tags, you must look at the source code as the search engine sees it. To do this, you need to click the "view” button on your browser menu bar, and select the option "source." A window will pop up revealing all the source code of the page that you are viewing in your browser.. If there are meta tags, they usually appear near the top of the window. For example, a meta tag would read: meta name="keywords" content=. If you do not find code that reads like this, ask your webmaster to put them in. This may not do much for your search engine rankings, but any little boost helps.
Lastly, we come to the issue of link popularity. This is a factor that is extremely important in terms of better search engine ranking. Almost all search engines use link popularity to rank your website. Link popularity is based on the quality of the sites you have linked to from your links page.
Now what you need to do is to duplicate and better what they have done and you should see your site with much better search engine rankings.
